Aglou

Aglou is a small surf town in the south of Morocco, offering a long beach with plenty of surfing potential.  It’s also very windy, making it ideal for wind sports and kite surfing. It is important to note that the waters can be rough, especially in the summers. The coast guard will only allow swimming under safe conditions.

Aglou is a nice village with few tourists, therefore it remains somewhat undeveloped.

There are several tombs of marabouts near the Aglou Beach. The word “marabout” means “saint” in the Berber langage. A marabout is a Muslim religious leader in West Africa, specifically in Morocco. Typically the marabout is a Quranic scholar.  Oftentimes, people will visit the tomb of a marabout to spend time in spiritual reflection. This is usually informal, and not viewed as a formal pilgrimage.
